Thanks for your interest in volunteering at Savannah Pride Center! As a volunteer-driven organization with only a staff of two, you are critical to the Center's ability to operate and offer services to Savannah's LGBTQIA+ community. Below is some information about volunteer opportunities to serve at the Center.
Front Desk and Outreach Volunteers
Front Desk Volunteers (FDV) are the greeting face of the Center and contribute to the functionality of the daily operations. FDV work on a regular schedule at the Center, greeting clients, giving tours, and maintaining the Center. FDV serve a fixed weekday shift (morning or afternoon) of about four hours minimum. This position is ideal for an individual with strong organizational, interpersonal and verbal communication skills -- and a desire to help people. *All FDV must be 18 or older
Outreach Volunteers contribute to community visibility and awareness of Center resources and programs. Outreach Volunteers are expected to attend various events where the Center will engage with the community to share information about programs and events. Outreach includes regular programs like Open Mic Night, community health fairs, and Cheers Queers. Volunteers will help set up tables, organize information and decorations, and pack it all up at the end of the event. This position is ideal for individuals who can’t commit to a weekday shift or a regular schedule. *Outreach volunteers must be 18 or older.
Major Event Volunteers are vital to the success of our signature events, such as the Stonewall Block Party held in June and the Savannah Pride Festival held in October. These events will offer different types of volunteer shifts to be announced in the weeks leading up to the event. If seasonal volunteering around major events sounds right for you, be sure to sign up below to receive email updates! *Major Event Volunteers must be 18 or older or meet the following conditions: Age 15 and up. Filled out and signed Parental Consent Form submitted one week prior to event. Accompanied by a responsible adult during volunteer shift.
